Do You Have the Faith of Demons?

We are told in the Word of God that we should have the faith of a very tiny mustard seed that becomes something that supports the nests of birds and a faith that move mountains. Do you have a faith like this that is true and born of the Spirit of God or…

“14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can his faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way faith, if it doesn’t have works, is dead by itself. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith from my works. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. The demons also believe—and they shudder.” James 2:14-19 HCSB.

Brother James writes, “The demons also believe–and they shudder.” v. 19. But, “What and how do the friends of Satan ‘believe?’” There is no doubt that most every member of the Body of Christ is acquainted with someone who ‘believes’ Jesus Christ to be Risen Son of God. They know Him to be Lord, they know Him to have been born of a virgin and lived at least 30 years on this planet. They know Him to be equal with God and that He was present when everything known was created and that without Him nothing was created without His presence. And they know Him as the coming again final Judge. Yes, these demonic people ‘believe.’

But there is more than a simple understanding about this Holy Individual whose Name is Jesus Christ. There must also be faith, but not just any kind of faith. There must be a living faith that produces good works just as Paul writes in Ephesians chapter 2 where he points out that one who believes is created for good works.  And James tells us this,

“20 Foolish man! Are you willing to learn that faith without works is useless? 21 Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith was active together with his works, and by works, faith was perfected. 23 So the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by a different route? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.” James 2:20-26.

There are many amongst us who claim to be ‘Christians,’ but clearly may not be demons as such, but are notably demonic in spirit. These are actively involved in the life of your local church as deacons, Bible teachers and some are your pastors, but they are demonic for they have the faith of Demons. What they do and teach can be traced to lies and unrighteousness even though their works may be ‘good,’ but they are without faith and their good works are dead. Have you heard of the old, old statement, “There is a rat in the woodpile?”

We are observing many churches and many faith groups that claim to be ‘Christian,’ but are dead piles of wood that have the smell of rats. But, they are known of God and one day He will judge them for who they are because He is Judge. We are not to worry for their message of lies is known to us who know the Savior as Lord. We are not as many as we hear because we are outnumbered by far. The participants and doers of evil are all around us, but we must not fear.

Jesus is Lord!!
