Jesus is the focal point, or should be, correct?
The Bible, whether or not you agree with me, is inerrant and infallible in all that it says about God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Within that Book we are instructed “How to get to Heaven.” The ‘how’ is through the Person of Jesus Christ, the Crucified and Risen Son of God. One day soon He is returning to retrieve His Church and soon thereafter there is to be the Final Judgment Day and finally He will usher in His Eternity known as the New Jerusalem wherein His Chosen will live with him forever. THAT, in a nutshell, is His plan.
For the moment, however, we are where we are…on Earth. And, again, we are at this juncture of Truth which for many remains a mystery. This ‘Divine Mystery’ is really not so much so, but there are ‘those’ amongst us who have chosen to make this Mystery very, very difficult and most often, annoying to many. But the point remains some of us are very, very wrong and some of us have it right.
I will not say who is right and who is wrong, but we must find that ‘Right’ way in the Bible. If I were to say who is right and who is wrong, some of us would then be ‘marginalized’ and that is just ‘wrong’ in our world, today. We are NOT supposed to do that because someone’s feelings will be injured and, well…What we know is simple, Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and not one will get to His Heaven apart from His Way. We of the SBC have no ‘bragging rights’ on this, and neither does anyone else. But, Jesus IS THE WAY, Period. My hope and prayer in Jesus is that we meet together in the ‘Sweet by and by.’
In the end this is really NOT a choice of ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ as such, but there is a choice to be made.Well, here we are, folks. We are at this juncture in this well-known journey we call ‘Life.’ Up ahead of us there is a sign that reads, ‘Left’ or ‘Right.’ You guessed it, the ‘Left’ arrow points to a distant darkness that is a fiery pit known as Hell. The ‘Right’ arrow points in the direction of a place called the ‘New Jerusalem.’ Jesus tells us that there is a great chasm lying between these places across which no one can pass after arriving in their chosen destination. Heaven is a place of Light, and Hell is a place of burning fire and Darkness.
We are at the place of decision and the choice is yours AND you MUST choose NOW. The Bible tells us that “Today is THE Day of Salvation.” Which is YOUR choice? This is the place that YOU must make the right Choice between Heaven and Hell, Good and Evil, Jesus and Satan. In the end I suppose there is not a “Right” choice or a “Wrong” choice, but the choice is yours to make, but the choice is an Eternal One. Which do you choose?
This is what God tells us, “For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity to indulge your flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law can be summed up in a single commandment, namely, “You must love your neighbor as yourself.” However, if you continually bite and devour one another, beware that you are not consumed by one another. But I say, live by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. For the flesh has desires that are opposed to the Spirit, and the Spirit has desires that are opposed to the flesh, for these are in opposition to each other, so that you cannot do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, depravity, idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions, factions, envying, murder, drunkenness, carousing, and similar things. I am warning you, as I had warned you before: Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God! But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, being jealous of one another.” Galatians 5:13-26.
There, I did it again. I have pointed out what the Bible tells us about who will get to go to Heaven in words that our culture today vehemently disagrees. Our culture says it quite differently, but God tells us this.
Again, the choice is yours to make and in the end…well, y’all come now!!
Jesus remains Lord!!
