Biblical Truth Confirms Our Reality

Biblical Truth confirms our reality that is accurately perceived with an understanding of the Sovereign God of the Bible. He created and sustains all truth and affirms this in Jesus Christ, “Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 There are many dwelling places in my Father’s house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you. 3 And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that where I am you may be too. 4 And you know the way where I am going.” 5 Thomas said, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you have known me, you will know my Father too. And from now on you do know him and have seen him.” John 14:1-7.

The reality is that God, indeed is Sovereign, and only through His Son will be arrive at His Place by practicing His Truth. There is no doubt in my mind today that we are at a critical spiritual crossroad in America. This election has made this clear and our Nation is divided almost down the middle. The results have demonstrated that many who have been calling themselves ‘Christian’ are on the wrong side of history and, indeed, truth. For the Followers of Jesus Christ we must take a moment to assess what is observable, take a deep breath and do what Paul has written, “14 Do not become partners with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness? 15 And what agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever? 16 And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said, “I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you, 18 and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the All-Powerful Lord.” 1 Corinthians 6:14-18.

Each of us have friends and perhaps family that are entrenched in the lies of the world in which we live. Many of them claim to know God, but their actions betray their hearts. Does God really mean that Believers are to separate themselves from unbelievers? What does the Bible say here? The answer is clearly , “Yes.” We are NOT to participate in their Godless activities, but influence them by our words and actions of Truth. Will we have an impact upon them? Look at what we find in Isaiah 55:7-11, “The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the Lord, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them. 8 “Indeed, my plans are not like your plans, and my deeds are not like your deeds,” says the Lord, 9 “for just as the sky is higher than the earth, so my deeds are superior to your deeds and my plans superior to your plans. 10 The rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return, but instead water the earth and make it produce and yield crops, and provide seed for the planter and food for those who must eat. 11 In the same way, the promise that I make does not return to me, having accomplished nothing. No, it is realized as I desire and is fulfilled as I intend.” (Please read the entire 55th chapter of Isaiah.)

The question may remain, “Will these lost people come to Christ in salvation?” Only if they choose to do so. The Holy Spirit has said that He will convict us of sin, judgment and righteousness, but the choice yet remains those of the listener.

Jesus is Lord.
