Attacking the Wrong Person

After Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan on December 7, 1941, Japanese admiral Yamamoto is quoted as having said, “I am fearful we have awakened a Sleeping Giant.” Even though no one has been able to provide proof of this statement coming from Yamamato, the truth of it is seen in the events immediately following the air raid on America’s Pacific naval base. Indeed, the wrong person was attacked.

Presently, there is no way to know whether or not the attacks upon President Trump will have a calculated mistake by the Liberal Establishment for 4 years. However, those of us who have supported Mr. Trump have been angered and there is another group within the Conservative Base often overlooked. During the Vietnam War, President Nixon called upon a large contingency of Americans he referred to as the “great silent majority” for help to “make peace and bring the war to an end.” Again this term, “silent majority” has recently surfaced again during this present General Election just as it did for Ronald Reagan during his campaign.

There is more involved in this than meets the readers and listeners in America today. This overlooked number of folks is the Church, the Body of Christ. Please listen carefully as you read this phrase, “the Body of Christ, the Church.” Let me explain.

I am not referring to the church in your neighborhood nor those who call themselves ‘Christian’ in your local church. Sadly and unfortunately, the local church is NOT the same as the Body of Christ found in the New Testament. (Since becoming President of the United States, Mr. Trump has coined the popular phrase, “Fake News” has a long history, apparently. From where does it come? No one really seems to know, but Trump seems to have popularized these two words.) My point is this, not everyone in our local cahurch(es) is a ‘Christian,’ are you surprised? If you are not, many certainly object to the idea. Unfortunately, our local churches are not as pure as the driven snow.

Within the local church is a smaller group of folks I refer to as ‘Believers’ or ‘Followers of Christ.’ The reason is many in our churches where we live and where we gather to worship and study the Word of God are NOT born-again. How am I able to say such a thing?

We can begin with the 12 disciples of Jesus to discover that not everyone among us are actual Followers of the Christ as they may portray themselves. Subject number one is Judas Iscariot, “And after Judas took the piece of bread, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.” John 13:27 NET2.  Another remarkable statement from Jesus is convincing, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven—only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many powerful deeds in your name?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!’” Matthew 7:21-23. And the key phrase from our Lord is, “…only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven,” will be allowed to enter His Kingdom of Heaven.

You see, the wrong person(s) is being attacked by evil today because these are standing in the face of all evil-doers protecting immorality in our Nation. The on-going murder of babie, sexual immorality, liars and others named by Paul in Galatians 5:19-21 will not enter His Kingdom, either. These people are and have been attacking the People of God for sometime, but in our present history in the United States and across the globe continue to do so. I have read the Book and in the end we win.

The often-quoted statement found in Revelation 20:11-14, “Then I saw a large white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and another book was opened—the book of life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the lake of fire. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.”

More than one time I have trumpeted these ideas ‘ad infinitum’ and I will not back away nor grow weary for just as Paul writes in Romans chapter 1, neither am I ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God resulting in the salvation of those who believe.

Jesus is Lord.
