Obedience Is a Spiritual Response to God’s Voice

Obedience should be the very present vestige of every born-again Believer and Follower of Jesus Christ. Jeremiah recorded this concerning obstinate Israel, “But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you will walk in all the way which I command you, that it may be well with you.’” Jeremiah 7:23. To be spiritually obedient to Him should be as normal as is taking a breath of air. This is an absolute, not simply a necessity.

The real issues becoming problems across the USA is simple; the Church has decreased not simply in size, but in influence because of the failure to obey the voice of God. I will recognize the fact that many will disagree with that idea, but the statistics demonstrate the failure. What has happened? The increase of evil activity is the result of the more and more evil-doers everywhere. There is more immorality because of immoral people in places of authority. Look at the people that the possibly new President of the US has chosen for his Cabinet…one of them being a homosexual male who has a husband. This is simply unacceptable. And there are professing ‘Christians’ who think this is okay? THIS is NOT obeying the voice of God.

“But they did not listen to me or pay any attention to me. They followed the stubborn inclinations of their own wicked hearts. They acted worse and worse instead of better. From the time your ancestors departed the land of Egypt until now, I sent my servants the prophets to you again and again, day after day. But your ancestors did not listen to me nor pay attention to me. They became obstinate and were more wicked than even their own forefathers.’” Jeremiah 7-24-26.

Take note: “I sent my servants the prophets to you again and again, day after day. But your ancestors did not listen to me nor pay attention to me. They became obstinate and were more wicked than even their own forefathers.’” vv 25b-26. Now, let us fast-forward to 2020 and what do we find more than two thousand years later? The Gospel Message has fallen on deaf ears and the prophets have mostly been silenced in our culture for fear of hurting the feelings of tender hearts…LOL!! We are paying the price for disobedience.

I encourage everyone to read the book of Jeremiah or at least the first ten chapters to discover what Israel chose to do and God’s response. Is America experiencing this sort of justice from the God of Israel now? I cannot be for certain, but I can say that God is disgusted with what is happening. The immoral attitudes of most across this Land is not pleasing to Him for He is holy and expects obedience from those who call themselves ‘Christian.’

Jesus is Lord.
